Eat your way to Clear Skin
Acne is one of the most common skin conditions affecting millions. While the proper skincare routine is vital to clear skin, diet can also impact skin health.
What Not to Eat To Have Clear Skin:
Foods with a high glycemic index, such as white bread, pasta, and sugary snacks, can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar levels, which can trigger insulin release. That then creates the production of androgens, hormones that can increase oil production in the skin and contribute to the formation of acne.
Research has also suggested that dairy products, particularly cow's milk, may be linked to acne. Dairy products contain hormones and growth factors that can stimulate oil production in the skin and contribute to the formation of acne. A study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that individuals who consumed more milk were more likely to have acne.
What to Eat To Have Clear Skin:
Foods rich in antioxidants, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, help reduce inflammation and protect the skin from damage.
Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, such as fatty fish, flaxseed, and walnuts, can help relieve acne by reducing inflammation.
Acne can be a complicated condition because it has many factors that play into it, like; habits, genetics, diet, and even little things like needing to wash your pillowcase more often or maybe the shampoo you have been using isn't good for your skin.
